Brüsszeli képviseletünk egy spanyol ipari partnertől megkeresést kapott a Eurostars programba beadandó nemzetközi projektjükhöz való csatlakozási lehetőséggel kapcsolatban. A projekt címe: “RIDENET – Real time IDEntification of malicious code in mobile NETworks“. Az MMKlaszterből távközlési hálózatokkal kapcsolatos szoftverfejlesztésben, hálózatfelügyeletben, azonosításban járatos kis- és középvállalkozást várnak.

Scope and objectives
As more and more Internet is becoming mobile handhelds are becoming more and more sophisticated and capability enabled.
However they are still lacking (and will due to battery life limitation) real computing power. So, implementing an anti-virus for this kind of devices can be really challenging and always under the risk that it is permanently disabled by the user due to the slowness that it brings to its device.
It is not ridiculous to be avoid a situation in a near future where it would be possible by terrorisms to collapse mobile telecoms networks in the same way that they can do with some sites in Internet nowadays through a DoS distributed attack.
Denial-of-service attacks (DoS attacks) have forced web sites to close after a malicious attack, flooding the site with more requests than it could cope with. Viruses have also been used to co-ordinate large scale distributed denial-of-service attacks.
The objective of the proposal is to evaluate the viability of implementing a real time malicious code identification placed at the network core. It would analyze all kinds of data targeting mobile devices, in order to avoid viruses/worms or any kind of malicious code propagation trough mobile networks.
The aim of the project is to implement a real time code analyzer to avoid the propagation of dangerous code through mobile networks. It will also identify jeopardizing devices and deny them the ability to transmit data (SMS, TCP/IP or the kind of data used for the outbreak), and at the same time warn the user that it is infected and provide it with the tools/ways to remove the infection.
